ASSA Handbooks

The ASSA Handbook is published annually (The first edition of the Handbook covered the years from 1968 to 1970.) and contains articles, breed statistics, lists of ASSA awards, show results, pedigrees and owner information, and photos of Shelties that earned advanced AKC titles in conformation, obedience, herding, tracking, and agility during the year. They are a must for those that are truly students of the breed.

                     Be a part of Sheltie History, put your dog in the Handbook

If you have earned an AKC title or advanced AKC obedience or herding title on your dog, you can submit photos and pedigrees for publication in an upcoming handbook. ASSA membership is not required.  For additional information on up coming Handbooks contact our editor, Sharon Parrish or call her at 651-306-6213. The Handbook is a great way to show off your dogs. Since it comes out every year it is a great way for those looking for stud dogs to find just the right dog.  Magazines are great, but they aren't always easy to fine dogs in. Download the forms for details on submission requirements, deadline, and fees: The new forms for 2011 will be available shortly.
